New Apartment - Nov 2005

We have been so busy lately! God has really encouraged us in the work here and has blessed us with health and strength to accomplish much.

We moved into our new apartment, located on the brand new PATC campus, in the middle of September. For the first week or so we didn't have electricity, which was an adjustment, but fortunately we have had very regular electricity since that time.

We worked very hard those first few weeks before classes started. We were moving into our new home, as well as setting up our offices and the computer lab in the new campus. Our new buildings are beautiful, and are making an impact in this area. We already have our first new student who is from Winneba, and we hope to have many more in the years to come.

I have found a lot of pleasure in starting a garden in our backyard. Living in this tropical climate, almost ANYTHING will grow. The first three plants that germinated (watermelon, cantaloupe and cucumber) are doing very well. I already have quite a few baby watermelons starting to grow. I am experimenting with a variety of vegetables: corn, tomatoes, beans, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, peppers and carrots. It is fun and rewarding work.

My responsibilities with the church here continue to grow. I have been meeting 2-3 times per week with the new choir, started the beginning of this month. We will be singing for the first time on Sunday. It is challenging and often frustrating work, as so few musicians have any training at all here, but I know that God will bless my efforts. All I want to do is bring praise to Him.

Just today I spoke with three principals of local schools within walking distance of PATC. I am planning on starting a weekly Bible class with the children of these three schools. Two of the principals expressed great interest, and I pray that God will open doors in this area to share his love with the children of this community.
