Alli and I have been working for 2 1/2 years since we first began the process to leave for Africa. We knew we would have to have good jobs here to save money, so while Alli taught elementary music, I worked commission paid jobs at Circuit City, Sprint, Select Comfort, and for the last year operated my own business selling toys at malls, flea markets, and state fairs. I am very glad that now I am done selling retail, which would be my last choice if I could start over. A friend of mine always said "necessity is the mother of invention." [November 3-2004]
